This renovation will elevate the YMCA experience, with plans for shiny new athletic fields featuring artificial turf, expanded parking options, and access to a much-needed covered parking garage. The locker rooms will also get a facelift, ensuring members enjoy their time at the facility even more.

When Can We Expect the Action to Start?

Excited about these changes? You won’t have to wait long! The first phase of the redevelopment project is expected to kick off in spring 2024. While the YMCA will continue to operate on the west side of the property, the eastern side is set for some serious development.

Introducing Whitney Village!

The newly acquired land is buzzing with potential. Plans are already in place for 380 apartments and 32,000 square feet of retail space, all coming together under the catchy name “Whitney Village.” This area will be a pedestrian haven, allowing visitors to enjoy a variety of shops and dining options without the hassle of cars.

Whitney Village isn’t just designed for the average shopper. It will feature 50 residential units right above the retail spaces, catering specifically to local employees—like those working at the YMCA—at attainable price points!

There’s more in store! A striking five-story apartment building, named The Henry at Whitney Village, will house approximately 325 apartments. And for those worried about parking—no need! A 600-space parking garage will be available, including designated areas for YMCA members and retail patrons.
