St. Petersburg is getting ready to welcome a vibrant new addition to its culinary scene. The highly anticipated Perry’s Porch, a charming coastal café, will be having its soft opening on February 8, 2024. Located at 335 2nd Avenue NE, right near the entrance of the Pier and nestled alongside the St. Petersburg Museum of History, this café is set to offer a delightful blend of local history, gorgeous views, and mouth-watering food.
Perry’s Porch takes the spot of the former craft beer bar, Hops and Props, which closed its doors in 2021. With the café’s official grand opening slated for February 12, 2024, excitement is building as many locals have been waiting to see what this new venue brings to the table.
Developed by the renowned Seed & Feed Hospitality Group, known for other popular establishments like Mandarin Hide, Trophy Fish, and El Cap, Perry’s Porch promises a unique dining experience that pays homage to St. Petersburg’s storied past. The café is named in tribute to C. Perry Snell, a significant developer from the early 1900s who had a vision of a beautiful, walkable waterfront adorned with parks throughout the city. Snell played a crucial role in creating neighborhoods like North Shore, Old Northeast, Snell Isle, and Granada Terrace, leaving a lasting legacy in St. Petersburg.
As one walks into Perry’s Porch, they can expect a delightful ambiance designed by Wannemacher Jensen Architects. Comfortable seating awaits approximately 150 guests, all ideally positioned to offer stunning views of the waterfront and the beautiful St. Pete skyline. The café’s drink menu is especially noteworthy, featuring cocktails inspired by St. Pete’s historic landmarks, including playful nods to favorites like the Soreno Hotel, Derby Lane, Jungle Prada, and the famous Pink Streets.
The menu at Perry’s Porch is a fantastic blend of fresh coastal Florida cuisine infused with Italian flair. Diners can indulge in a range of delectable dishes, such as Bucatini in Bolognese sauce, Snapper Paillard, and a tasty Pork Chop on cauliflower puree. To complement the food, the café also offers an impressive selection of draft and bottled beers, along with an extensive wine list. There’s even a future wine locker program promised for those looking to enhance their wine experiences.
For those early risers, Perry’s Porch will double as a cozy coffee shop in the mornings. Patrons can enjoy locally roasted Kahwa Coffee along with a charming ice cream cart providing house-made ice cream and gelato, making those early mornings sweeter!
In a bid to enhance the dining experience, Perry’s Porch plans to roll out special picnic baskets for visitors who wish to enjoy their meals while exploring the Pier. The café aims to be a gathering spot where friends and families can come together and enjoy a beautiful day out.
Co-owners Ryan Griffin and Blake Thompson are bubbling with excitement as they gear up to contribute to the lively spirit of St. Petersburg with Perry’s Porch. They emphasize a commitment to bringing people together for a memorable dining experience in a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere.
