St. Petersburg residents are coming together in a heartfelt search for Allister Samer Nasr, a 17-year-old high school senior who has been missing since March 1. The young man was last seen riding his bicycle from his home, and his family has been eagerly locating him ever since, fueled by love and concern for his safety and well-being.
Allister was last spotted around 10 a.m. in the vicinity of the 6500 block of Bayou Grande Boulevard NE. He was dressed casually in blue shorts, a gray sweatshirt, and white shoes. At first, he carried a black backpack but later switched to a red backpack shortly after leaving home. For those who know Allister, he is a friendly and intelligent young man with big dreams, eager to graduate and pursue engineering at the University of Florida in just a few months.
Days later, on March 12, Allister’s beloved white beach cruiser bicycle was discovered in the area of 94th Avenue North and San Martin Boulevard NE. This finding triggered an extensive search operation, with authorities utilizing air, land, and water patrols, alongside drone surveillance and dedicated search and rescue dogs. The local police department, aware of the growing concerns for Allister’s safety, classified him as an endangered missing person upon discovering a note from him that raised alarm among his family.
Allister’s family has been deeply involved in the search, distributing thousands of missing person flyers across St. Petersburg and surrounding neighborhoods. His brothers, Avicenne and Zach Nasr, have been dedicated to uncovering any leads. Notably, Avicenne traveled from Virginia Tech, showing the immense love and unity within their family during this trying time.
The community has rallied behind the Nasr family, with many individuals stepping up to help in search efforts. In addition to the police, well-known organizations like the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children have also joined the search to ensure all resources are utilized effectively.
While the search continues, the Nasr family has offered a $20,000 reward for any information leading to Allister’s safe return. Authorities are also actively seeking any information that could assist in locating him, emphasizing that he may still be in the local area or could have traveled to nearby regions, such as Fort Myers or Kissimmee. The urgency of the situation has united the community, proving that hope is a powerful motivation as they await updates on Allister’s whereabouts.
The Nasr family has opened their hearts, expressing love for Allister and a desire to share in the everyday moments that matter. They want him to know that the community is invested in his safety and return.
