Leadership St. Pete Welcomes 39 New Members for Class of 2025

St. Petersburg, FL – As its 55th anniversary approaches, Leadership St. Pete (LSP) has officially welcomed 39 new participants into its Class of 2025. The program, which is focused on building community leadership, provides an interactive six-month experience for emerging leaders from various sectors including business, government, and philanthropy.

Program Overview

Founded in 1970 under the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, LSP has built a strong legacy with over 1,600 graduates to date. The initiative is designed to equip its participants with valuable insights into the city’s social, economic, and political challenges. As the new cohort embarks on this journey, Class chairperson Jenna Stock Wunsch highlighted the palpable enthusiasm and energy exhibited by the new members.

Community Engagement

A key component of LSP is its annual community project, which involves selecting a nonprofit organization to support by enhancing its facilities. This year, the class is expected to raise a minimum of $50,000 for their chosen nonprofit. Past projects have positively impacted organizations such as St. Pete Youth Farm and Clam Bayou Marine Education Center.

Educational Experience

Participants will take part in nine seminars and three retreats during the program. These sessions cover a variety of topics, including the city’s history, the legislative process, and efforts toward promoting diversity. The structured curriculum is designed to encourage comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted challenges facing St. Petersburg.

Commitment to Success

To foster accountability and ensure engagement, participants are required to attend all scheduled sessions, allowing for only two absences, including being late. This structure is intended to promote strong connections among participants, fostering a collaborative environment that enhances the learning experience.

New Developments

The 55th anniversary of LSP comes with a fresh logo to represent the program’s ongoing commitment to leadership and community engagement. Now operating under the Bay Area Chamber Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, LSP continues to adapt and thrive.

Conclusion

As Leadership St. Pete embarks on another year of cultivating leaders, its Class of 2025 appears poised to make a meaningful impact on the community. With education and community service at the forefront, it sets a strong example of how leadership can foster lasting change in the city of St. Petersburg.
