Festive Events Light Up St. Petersburg This Holiday Season

St. Petersburg is buzzing with holiday spirit, offering a range of festive activities and special events for residents and visitors alike. From dazzling light displays to holiday markets, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this season.

Where to See Holiday Lights

The Oakdale Christmas House, located at 2719 Oakdale St. S., is welcoming families to experience its enchanting holiday light display, lit up every evening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.. This beloved holiday tradition brings joy to the community, making it a must-see location during the festive season.

Theatrical Performances

The American Stage Theatre Co. is presenting a pop-up show titled “Wonderful Life”, showcasing characters from the classic film It’s a Wonderful Life. Showtimes are scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are available for $38.

Also, the play “Who’s Holiday?” offers a modern twist on Cindy Lou Who’s life, set in 2024. Performances will take place on Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 5 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m. Ticket prices range from $20 to $30.

Meet Santa

Children and families can capture memorable moments with Santa Claus at North Straub Park, located at 400 Bayshore Dr. NE. Santa will be available for photos from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the holiday cheer.

Community Events

On Saturday, the Mistletoe Market will take place at Horan Park in St. Pete Beach, featuring local vendors and holiday gifts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. This event is a perfect opportunity to shop for unique gifts while supporting local businesses.

Additionally, Gulfport History Museum invites the community to enjoy carolers from 4:45 p.m. to 8 p.m., culminating in a bonfire and sing-along, bringing warmth and joy to the evening.

Families interested in crafting can participate in creating unique gingerbread habitats at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with fees ranging from $20 to $40 depending on the materials.

Screenings and More

Cinephiles can catch a special outdoor screening of The Grinch at Vinoy Park at 5:30 p.m. This event will also feature pre-movie activities and a chance to meet Santa.

Group fitness enthusiasts can participate in a free Zumba class at Thomas “Jet” Jackson Recreation Center on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., perfect for a fun start to the weekend.

Seasonal Dining and More

For those looking for a festive meal, The Drunken Taco will serve a Christmas dinner featuring prime rib from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.. Reservations are encouraged for this popular holiday dining option.
