Mark your calendars, St. Pete residents! The vibrant city by the bay is all set to host its 8th Annual Fit City Glow in the Park 5K and 1-Mile Walk on Saturday, February 1, 2025. If you’re ready to light up the night and get your heart pumping, head on over to North Straub Park, located at 400 Bayshore Dr. NE, where the festivities kick off at 5 p.m..
This event is not just another race; it’s a celebration of health, community, and fun! Participants are encouraged to show off their creative light-up outfits. Think twinkling lights, neon colors, and anything that sparkles—because this nighttime run is all about bringing your glow game to the next level! Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just want to take a leisurely stroll with family and friends, this event welcomes everyone to join in the fun.
As part of the Healthy St. Pete initiative led by the St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation Department, this event aims to foster an active and engaged community focused on health and wellness. Besides just running, you’ll find activities suitable for all ages, including live music and glow games happening after the run.
The race promises to be a scenic route that winds through parks and the stunning downtown waterfront, wrapping up back at North Straub Park—making it your chance to witness some of St. Pete’s most beautiful scenery while getting your steps in!
To participate, you’ll need to register ahead of time. If you lock in your spot by January 5, 2025, you’ll snag a sweet deal that includes a free T-shirt, race bib, medal, and a glowing kit, just for signing up! The fee for the 5K race is just $30 until January 31, 2025, and goes up to $35 on the event day, subject to availability. For those who prefer a shorter trek, the 1-mile walk has a registration rate of $15 until January 31, 2025, increasing to $20 on the day of the event.
