St. Petersburg Community Festival Back on Track for March 8!
St. Petersburg, gather ’round! The highly anticipated St. Pete CommUNITY Festival is all set to make its debut after a bit of a hiccup thanks to Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Originally planned for September 28, 2024, this exciting celebration has received a new lease on life, with organizers rescheduling the event for March 8, 2024, at the charming Azalea Park. Located at 16000 72nd Ave. N, the festival will run from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., making it a perfect Saturday outing for all ages!
A Celebration of Unity and Diversity
The festival is being organized by local community activist Aron Bryce, who is dedicated to promoting togetherness and celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures that make St. Petersburg so vibrant. In a move that reflects the spirit of inclusivity, the event has dropped the word “West” from its name, further shining a light on the unifying theme the festival hopes to embody.
What’s in Store for the Day?
Expect a fantastic mix of music, arts, and community celebration at the festival! Visitors will be treated to performances from more than 20 talented artists showcasing live paintings, setting the perfect ambiance of creativity and expression. Additionally, almost 50 local organizations and nonprofits will have booths at the festival, along with around 60 small businesses and nine food vendors to satisfy any craving!
One highlight of the day? Mayor Ken Welch will be on hand to deliver a proclamation, adding an official touch to the festivities. Plus, families can take a dive into the wonders of the ocean with the Marine Exploration Center of St. Petersburg, which will be bringing along a mobile aquarium. Talk about a fun learning experience!

For an added thrill, families can also check out vehicles from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, St. Petersburg Police Department, and Fire Rescue, providing an opportunity for kids to learn about local heroes in action!
Unity through Challenges
Despite the challenges of rescheduling and fundraising, Bryce is optimistic that the festival is stronger than ever, having improved in virtually every way. In a time when natural disasters and divisive politics seem to be at the forefront of many conversations, this festival represents a beacon of community unity for all St. Pete residents.
